Respuesta directa

Does a Thread Lift Program have side effects, and how many sessions are needed?

Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness or asymmetry can occur. Less-common complications need prompt clinical review. A Program is commonly planned as one treatment followed by review, but there is no fixed session count for everyone: anatomy, material, goal, previous procedures and recovery determine the plan.

General information only. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. Individual suitability and response vary.

Thread Lift Program evolution

From materials that remained to absorbable, tissue-engaging systems.

This is a history of changing materials, geometry, vectors and evidence—not a simple ranking from old to best. A material is not a product, and a product is not a technique.

  1. Before modern barbs

    Gold and other non-absorbable materials

Later literature documents cosmetic gold-thread implantation, but the available sources do not establish one inventor or an exact first date. Material that remains may also remain visible on later imaging.

  2. 2002

    Tissue-engaging geometry

A published APTOS report described dented polypropylene sutures. It is an important modern clinical anchor for deliberate tissue engagement—not proof of the uncontested first Thread Lift Program.

  3. 2005–2015

    Absorbable barbs and cones

Named devices introduced PDO and later fully absorbable PLLA/PLGA cone systems. A device clearance, its indication and date must stay attached to that exact device; it is not universal approval for every thread or use.

  4. 2020–2025

    Evidence reviews the trade-offs

Reviews expanded the safety and outcome evidence but continued to identify variable study quality and limited long-term follow-up. PDO, PLLA/PLGA and PCL/PLCL are different material families and are not interchangeable.

History can improve the questions asked in consultation. It does not establish individual suitability, duration or superiority.

Individual results vary. Capture timing, lighting, expression, camera distance and angle may differ as part of real-world clinical photography. A physician consultation is required before treatment.

Preguntas

What side effects should I plan for?

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness or temporary asymmetry may occur. Ask for written aftercare and the direct contact route for severe, unusual or worsening symptoms.

¿Cuántas veces necesito un levantamiento con hilos Program?

It is often planned as one treatment followed by review rather than a fixed course. Maintenance is not automatic; the physician reassesses anatomy, healing, goals and whether another option is better.

¿Puedo elegir un hilo desde una foto?

No. A photo can help describe a concern, but it cannot establish anatomy, material choice, placement or suitability.
